The Lord Jesus Christ came into this world to suffer and die at Calvary’s cross to save undeserving sinners. What a message of hope the Gospel is? This world can offer you no hope, no peace and no joy but the Gospel is preached that you may receive these things by coming to know the Saviour, Jesus Christ.
Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
Isaiah 1:18-20 “18 Come now, let us reason together, saith Jehovah: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
19 If ye be willing and hearken, ye shall eat the good of the land;20 but if ye refuse and rebel, ye shall be devoured with the sword: for the mouth of Jehovah hath spoken.”
Isaiah 53:4-6 “4 Surely *he* hath borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; and we, we did regard him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes we are healed.6 All we like sheep have gone astray, we have turned every one to his own way; and Jehovah hath laid upon him the iniquity of us all.”
Matthew 26:36-46 “36 Then Jesus comes with them to a place called Gethsemane, and says to the disciples, Sit here until I go away and pray yonder.
37 And taking with [him] Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, he began to be sorrowful and deeply depressed.38 Then he says to them, My soul is very sorrowful even unto death; remain here and watch with me.
39 And going forward a little he fell upon his face, praying and saying, My Father, if it be possible let this cup pass from me; but not as *I* will, but as *thou* [wilt].40 And he comes to the disciples and finds them sleeping, and says to Peter, Thus ye have not been able to watch one hour with me?41 Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed [is] ready, but the flesh weak.
42 Again going away a second time he prayed saying, My Father, if this cannot pass [from me] unless I drink it, thy will be done.
43 And coming he found them again sleeping, for their eyes were heavy.
44 And leaving them, he went away again and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.45 Then he comes to the disciples and says to them, Sleep on now and take your rest; behold, the hour has drawn nigh, and the Son of man is delivered up into the hands of sinners.46 Arise, let us go; behold, he that delivers me up has drawn nigh.”
Luke 24:36-47 “36 And as they were saying these things, he himself stood in their midst, and says to them, Peace [be] unto you.37 But they, being confounded and being frightened, supposed they beheld a spirit.38 And he said to them, Why are ye troubled? and why are thoughts rising in your hearts?39 behold my hands and my feet, that it is *I* myself. Handle me and see, for a spirit has not flesh and bones as ye see me having.
40 And having said this he shewed them his hands and his feet.41 But while they yet did not believe for joy, and were wondering, he said to them, Have ye anything here to eat?42 And they gave him part of a broiled fish and of a honeycomb;
43 and he took it and ate before them.44 And he said to them, These [are] the words which I spoke to you while I was yet with you, that all that is written concerning me in the law of Moses and prophets and psalms must be fulfilled.45 Then he opened their understanding to understand the scriptures,46 and said to them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved the Christ to suffer, and to rise from among the dead the third day;47 and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name to all the nations beginning at Jerusalem.”
