In this Gospel you will of the Lord Jesus The Good Shepherd who came into the world to bring salvation to mankind. The scriptures tell us that the Lord Jesus laid down His life for the sheep. We have all gone astray just like sheep do but The Good Shepherd came to seek and to save that which was lost.
Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
John 10:11 “11 I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep:”
John 10:7-9 “7 Jesus therefore said again to them, Verily, verily, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.8 All whoever came before me are thieves and robbers; but the sheep did not hear them.9 I am the door: if any one enter in by me, he shall be saved, and shall go in and shall go out and shall find pasture.”
Luke 15:3-7 “3 And he spoke to them this parable, saying,4 What man of you having a hundred sheep, and having lost one of them, does not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
5 and having found it, he lays it upon his own shoulders, rejoicing;6 and being come to the house, calls together the friends and the neighbours, saying to them, Rejoice with me, for I have found my lost sheep.7 I say unto you, that thus there shall be joy in heaven for one repenting sinner, [more] than for ninety and nine righteous who have no need of repentance.”
Luke 24:25-33 “25 And *he* said to them, O senseless and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!26 Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things and to enter into his glory?27 And having begun from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.28 And they drew near to the village where they were going, and *he* made as though he would go farther.
29 And they constrained him, saying, Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is declining. And he entered in to stay with them.30 And it came to pass as he was at table with them, having taken the bread, he blessed, and having broken it, gave it to them.31 And their eyes were opened, and they recognised him. And he disappeared from them.
32 And they said to one another, Was not our heart burning in us as he spoke to us on the way, [and] as he opened the scriptures to us?33 And rising up the same hour, they returned to Jerusalem. “
1 Peter 5:1-3 “5 The elders which [are] among you I exhort, who [am their] fellow-elder and witness of the sufferings of the Christ, who also [am] partaker of the glory about to be revealed:2 shepherd the flock of God which [is] among you, exercising oversight, not by necessity, but willingly; not for base gain, but readily;
3 not as lording it over your possessions, but being models for the flock.4 And when the chief shepherd is manifested ye shall receive the unfading crown of glory.”
