Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
Revelation 3:14-20 “14 And to the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God:15 I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot; I would thou wert cold or hot.16 Thus because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I am about to spue thee out of my mouth.
17 Because thou sayest, I am rich, and am grown rich, and have need of nothing, and knowest not that *thou* art the wretched and the miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked;18 I counsel thee to buy of me gold purified by fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white garments, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness may not be made manifest; and eye-salve to anoint thine eyes, that thou mayest see.19 I rebuke and discipline as many as I love; be zealous therefore and repent.20 Behold, I stand at the door and am knocking; if any one hear my voice and open the door, I will come in unto him and sup with him, and he with me.”
1 Samuel 20:5 “5 And David said to Jonathan, Behold, to-morrow is new moon, and I should not fail to sit with the king at meat; but let me go, that I may hide myself in the field until the third evening.”
1 Samuel 20:20-27 “24 And David hid himself in the field; and it was the new moon, and the king sat at table to eat.25 And the king sat on his seat, as at other times, on the seat by the wall; and Jonathan arose, and Abner sat by Saul’s side, and David’s place was empty.26 And Saul said nothing that day; for he thought, Something has befallen [him], that he is not clean: surely he is not clean.27 And it came to pass the next day after the new moon, the second [day of the month], as David’s place was empty, that Saul said to Jonathan his son, Why has not the son of Jesse come to table, neither yesterday nor to-day?”
2 Samuel 9:1-8 “9 And David said, Is there yet any that is left of the house of Saul, that I may shew him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?2 And there was of the house of Saul a servant whose name was Ziba; and they called him to David. And the king said to him, Art thou Ziba? And he said, Thy servant!
3 And the king said, Is there not yet any of the house of Saul, that I may shew the kindness of God to him? And Ziba said to the king, Jonathan has yet a son, who is lame on [his] feet.4 And the king said to him, Where is he? And Ziba said to the king, Behold, he is in the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, in Lodebar.5 And king David sent, and fetched him out of the house of Machir the son of Ammiel, from Lodebar.6 And Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan, the son of Saul, came to David, and fell on his face and did obeisance. And David said, Mephibosheth. And he said, Behold thy servant!
7 And David said to him, Fear not; for I will certainly shew thee kindness for Jonathan thy father’s sake, and will restore thee all the land of Saul thy father; and thou shalt eat bread at my table continually.8 And he bowed himself, and said, What is thy servant, that thou shouldest look upon such a dead dog as I am?”
2 Samuel 9:13 “13 So Mephibosheth dwelt in Jerusalem; for he did eat continually at the king’s table. And he was lame on both his feet.”
