Some day soon the Lord Jesus will come again. While we wait for that blessed day, What are we doing in service for our glorious Lord and Saviour? In this address you will hear of three examples of faithful men of God who served the Lord with faithfulness to the end of their pathways. God would desire for us to be faithful until our Lord Jesus returns.
Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
Joshua 15:16-19 ” 16 And Caleb said, He that smites Kirjath-sepher and takes it, to him will I give Achsah my daughter as wife.17 And Othniel the son of Kenaz, the brother of Caleb, took it; and he gave him Achsah his daughter as wife.
18 And it came to pass as she came, that she urged him to ask of her father a field; and she sprang down from the ass. And Caleb said to her, What wouldest thou?19 And she said, Give me a blessing; for thou hast given me a southern land; give me also springs of water. Then he gave her the upper springs and the lower springs.”
2 Samael 6:12-18 “12 And it was told king David, saying, Jehovah has blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that is his, because of the ark of God. And David went and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom into the city of David with joy.13 And it was so, that when they that bore the ark of Jehovah had gone six paces, he sacrificed an ox and a fatted beast.
14 And David danced before Jehovah with all his might; and David was girded with a linen ephod.15 And David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of Jehovah with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.16 And as the ark of Jehovah came into the city of David, Michal the daughter of Saul looked through a window, and saw king David leaping and dancing before Jehovah; and she despised him in her heart.
17 And they brought in the ark of Jehovah, and set it in its place, in the midst of the tent that David had spread for it. And David offered up burnt-offerings and peace-offerings before Jehovah.18 And when David had ended offering up the burnt-offerings and the peace-offerings, he blessed the people in the name of Jehovah of hosts.”
2 Samael 23:13-19 “13 And three of the thirty chiefs went down, and came to David in the harvest time to the cave of Adullam, when the troop of the Philistines was encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
14 And David was then in the stronghold; and the Philistines’ garrison was then at Bethlehem.15 And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me to drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate!16 And the three mighty men broke through the camp of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, which is in the gate, and took it, and brought it to David; however he would not drink of it, but poured it out to Jehovah.
17 And he said, Be it far from me, Jehovah, that I should do this thing! is it not the blood of the men that went at the risk of their lives? Therefore he would not drink it. These things did the three mighty men.18 And Abishai, the brother of Joab, the son of Zeruiah, was the chief of three; and he brandished his spear against three hundred and slew them; and he had a name among the three.19 Was he not most honourable of three? and he was their captain; but he did not attain to the [first] three.”
Philippians 2:18-21 “18 In like manner do *ye* also rejoice, and rejoice with me.19 But I hope in [the] Lord Jesus to send Timotheus to you shortly, that *I* also may be refreshed, knowing how ye get on.20 For I have no one like-minded who will care with genuine feeling how ye get on.21 For all seek their own things, not the things of Jesus Christ.”
