Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
Nahum 1:2-4 “2 A jealous and avenging God is Jehovah: an avenger is Jehovah, and full of fury: Jehovah taketh vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth [wrath] for his enemies.3 Jehovah is slow to anger, and great in power, and doth not at all clear [the guilty]: Jehovah,—his way is in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers:”
Nahum 1:6 “6 Who shall stand before his indignation? and who shall abide in the fierceness of his anger? His fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken asunder by him.”
Nahum 1:15 “15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth glad tidings, that publisheth peace! “
Nahum 1:7 “7 Jehovah is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.”
Mattehw 9:9-13 “9 And Jesus, passing on thence, saw a man sitting at the tax-office, called Matthew, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.10 And it came to pass, as he lay at table in the house, that behold, many tax-gatherers and sinners came and lay at table with Jesus and his disciples.
11 And the Pharisees seeing [it], said to his disciples, Why does your teacher eat with tax-gatherers and sinners?12 But [Jesus] hearing it, said, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those that are ill.13 But go and learn what [that] is—I will have mercy and not sacrifice; for I have not come to call righteous [men] but sinners.”
