For the believer in Christ, it is the night time. Jesus has been rejected by this world and was crucified at Calvary. Although this is a reality in the world as believers the bright hope of Christ’s return should be shining in our hearts. There is a morning coming when Jesus will descend from the heavens to claim his own. While you are waiting for that glorious day what is your heart occupied with? God desires for your heart to be occupied with the glory of Christ.
Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation
Leviticus 6:8-9 And Jehovah spoke to Moses, saying,9 Command Aaron and his sons, saying, This is the law of the burnt-offering; this, the burnt-offering, shall be on the hearth on the altar all night unto the morning, and the fire of the altar shall be kept burning on it.
Leviticus 6:12-13 “12 And the fire upon the altar shall be kept burning on it: it shall not be put out; and the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt-offering in order upon it; and he shall burn thereon the fat of the peace-offerings.13 A continual fire shall be kept burning on the altar: it shall never go out.”
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 “23 For *I* received from the Lord, that which I also delivered to you, that the Lord Jesus, in the night in which he was delivered up, took bread,24 and having given thanks broke [it], and said, This is my body, which [is] for you: this do in remembrance of me.25 In like manner also the cup, after having supped, saying, This cup is the new covenant in my blood: this do, as often as ye shall drink [it], in remembrance of me.26 For as often as ye shall eat this bread, and drink the cup, ye announce the death of the Lord, until he come.
Matthew 14:22-32 “22 And immediately he compelled the disciples to go on board ship, and to go on before him to the other side, until he should have dismissed the crowds.23 And having dismissed the crowds, he went up into the mountain apart to pray. And when even was come, he was alone there,24 but the ship was already in the middle of the sea tossed by the waves, for the wind was contrary.25 But in the fourth watch of the night he went off to them, walking on the sea.26 And the disciples, seeing him walking on the sea, were troubled, saying, It is an apparition. And they cried out through fear.27 But Jesus immediately spoke to them, saying, Take courage; it is *I*: be not afraid.
28 And Peter answering him said, Lord, if it be *thou*, command me to come to thee upon the waters.29 And he said, Come. And Peter, having descended from the ship, walked upon the waters to go to Jesus.30 But seeing the wind strong he was afraid; and beginning to sink he cried out, saying, Lord, save me.31 And immediately Jesus stretched out his hand and caught hold of him, and says to him, O thou of little faith, why didst thou doubt?32 And when they had gone up into the ship, the wind fell.”
Revelation 22:16 “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify these things to you in the assemblies. *I* am the root and offspring of David, the bright [and] morning star.”
