“Do the work of an Evangelist”

Preachers Corner https://www.preacherscorner.org.uk

Paul charged Timothy to do the work of an evangelist. This call to action reminds us all of our responsibility to share the message of hope and salvation with those around us. As believers, we are called to spread the good news through our actions, words, and service. Let us embrace this calling with passion and dedication, making a positive impact in the lives of others.

Bible Scriptures: Darby Translation

2 Timothy 4:5 “do [the] work of an evangelist”

John 4:1-7When therefore the Lord knew that the Pharisees had heard that Jesus makes and baptises more disciples than John(however, Jesus himself did not baptise, but his disciples),he left Judaea and went away again unto Galilee.

And he must needs pass through Samaria. He comes therefore to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near to the land which Jacob gave to his son Joseph. Now a fountain of Jacob’s was there; Jesus therefore, being wearied with the way he had come, sat just as he was at the fountain. It was about the sixth hour.A woman comes out of Samaria to draw water. Jesus says to her, Give me to drink”

Acts 8:26-3526 But [the] angel of [the] Lord spoke to Philip, saying, Rise up and go southward on the way which goes down from Jerusalem to Gaza: the same is desert.

27 And he rose up and went. And lo, an Ethiopian, a eunuch, a man in power under Candace queen of the Ethiopians, who was over all her treasure, who had come to worship at Jerusalem,28 was returning and sitting in his chariot: and he was reading the prophet Esaias.29 And the Spirit said to Philip, Approach and join this chariot.30 And Philip, running up, heard him reading the prophet Esaias, and said, Dost thou then know what thou art reading of?

31 And he said, How should I then be able unless some one guide me? And he begged Philip to come up and sit with him.

32 And the passage of the scripture which he read was this: He was led as a sheep to slaughter, and as a lamb is dumb in presence of him that shears him, thus he opens not his mouth.33 In his humiliation his judgment has been taken away, and who shall declare his generation? for his life is taken from the earth.

34 And the eunuch answering Philip said, I pray thee, concerning whom does the prophet say this? of himself or of some other?35 And Philip, opening his mouth and beginning from that scripture, announced the glad tidings of Jesus to him.”

2 Kings 5:1-3And Naaman, captain of the host of the king of Syria, was a great man before his master, and honourable, for by him Jehovah had given deliverance to Syria; and he was a mighty man of valour, [but] a leper. And the Syrians had gone out in bands, and had brought away captive out of the land of Israel a little maid; and she waited on Naaman’s wife.

And she said to her mistress, Oh, would that my lord were before the prophet that is in Samaria! then he would cure him of his leprosy.”
