The fear of death can steal the joy of our salvation. The words “Fear not” appears in the Bible 365 times. In the world today many are fearful of the reality of death. God desires for each believer to conquer this fear by depending totally on our Saviour and Lord, Jesus Christ. In Christ, we are able to overcome the fear of death and by faith in Him, our hearts are filled with joy.
John 6:15-21 “15 Jesus therefore knowing that they were going to come and seize him, that they might make [him] king, departed again to the mountain himself alone.16 But when evening was come, his disciples went down to the sea,17 and having gone on board ship, they went over the sea to Capernaum. And it had already become dark, and Jesus had not come to them,18 and the sea was agitated by a strong wind blowing.
19 Having rowed then about twenty-five or thirty stadia, they see Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the ship; and they were frightened.20 But he says to them, It is I: be not afraid.21 They were willing therefore to receive him into the ship; and immediately the ship was at the land to which they went.”
Proverbs 3:5-6 “5 Confide in Jehovah with all thy heart, and lean not unto thine own intelligence;6 in all thy ways acknowledge him, and he will make plain thy paths.”

Psalm 27:1 “Jehovah is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? Jehovah is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?”
Hebrews 2:14-15 “14 Since therefore the children partake of blood and flesh, he also, in like manner, took part in the same, that through death he might annul him who has the might of death, that is, the devil; 15 and might set free all those who through fear of death through the whole of their life were subject to bondage.”
Isaiah 41:13 “13 For I, Jehovah, thy God, hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.”
Romans 6:3-4 “3 Are you ignorant that we, as many as have been baptised unto Christ Jesus, have been baptised unto his death?4 We have been buried therefore with him by baptism unto death, in order that, even as Christ has been raised up from among [the] dead by the glory of the Father, so *we* also should walk in newness of life.”
